| Our psychology internship
offers students and interns the opportunity to bolster their
classroom education with experience in an applied setting.
It offers specialized training in a number of settings that
will prepare you for a future in psychology. Our program is
dedicated to providing an outstanding internship training
experience tailored to the needs of each intern.
Opportunities exist with Ecuadorian corporations,
non-profit organizations, schools, hospitals, government agencies,
etc. Internships are available in: Clinical/mental health
settings, for example, drug intervention mess, treatment centres
for children, and mess for the homeless. You might also be
placed in a Health or developmental setting, for example,
a nursing home, Red Cross administration, industrial/organizational
psychology (personnel, human resources, selection and training)
and Planned Parenthood programs. Interns should select internships
that are consistent with their interests and goals.
During this internship or training, interns
or trainees will have the opportunity of acquiring skills
such as: breadth of experience working with different diagnoses,
ability to plan, conduct and write psychological assessments,
ability to provide professional consultation and effective
treatment in a variety of settings, collaborative skills for
working in a multidisciplinary setting, skills to incorporate
standards of ethical and professional psychology into all
activities, communication, team building and leadership skills,
administrative skills in the application of theory and research
to the psychology, interviewing, assessment, and problem solving.
Internship Role
As an intern abroad, depending on your abilities
and placement, you will be working side-by-side with the professional
staff and patients (e.g., children, young people, older adults,
women veterans) and be involved in the day - to - day psychological
duties such as: diagnoses, behavioral therapy, professional
consultation, psychiatric issues, sleep-wake disorders, geriatric
psychology and managed mental health care, among other.
Skills/Qualifications
Although our opportunity is open to undergraduate,
recent graduate students and young professionals. No previous
experience is mandatory although it could be very helpful.
Nevertheless, an intermediate level of Spanish is required.

Internship Location
Our professional marketing internship is
located in Quito.
Accommodation and Meals
During the stay in the program, interns
will live with a carefully screened host family which will
provide with a single, clean, modest, comfortable and safe
room as well as local meals three times a day. No lunch on
Sundays.
Dates, Duration and Application Deadline
This internship opportunity runs all year-round
for 9-24 weeks in length and start every Monday so interns
should arrive 1 or 2 days early. Interns choose their own
start dates. Applications are accepted up to 4 weeks prior
to departure or start date.
Pick-up/Meeting
Interns will be met outside the airport
terminal by an ELEP representative holding a placard with
your name on it. Please provide us your flight information
up to 2 weeks prior departing from your home-country so that
a punctual pick-up/meeting can be arranged.

Internship Program Cost: 1150 for 9 weeks. Every extra week
is $ 105
