CLIMATE
Ecuador has tropical weather along the coast and the amazonic region. It becomes cooler in the highlands of the central, Andean region. The temperature in the highlands cities is spring like all year around, with temperatures about 70 degrees F. The temperature in the cost and the amazonic region is between 90 and 100 degrees F.
PEOPLE, LANGUAGE AND RELIGION
Ecuador has a population of 13.212.742 giving a population density of about 33.5 people per Km2. The median age of the population is 23 years and the life expectancy at birth is 73 years for males and 79 years for females.
The main ethnic groups are mestizo (mixed, Amerindian and white), 65%; Amerindian, 25%; Spanish and others, 7%; afro Ecuadorian, 3%.
Most of the population is catholic, 95%.
Spanish is the official language. Quechua is spoken by the Amerindian population.
In a few words, Ecuador is definitively an unexplored country, rich in biodiversity, culture and architecture due to its Spanish and Inca heritage, vast indigenous population and broad ethnic diversity.
